Triang Spot-On Jenny’s Home Kitchen
Triang Spot On furniture was produced in 1960. The style of this furniture being the late 1950’s The furniture made from moulded plastic and metal. It was sold in individual boxes, with the ‘Triang’ and ‘Spot On’ Logos, on a pink and cream box. The Range also included ‘Dollies Home’ introduced in 1962, which consisted mainly of room sets. The boxes they were sold in were printed to represent the room, kitchen, bedroom etc. The ‘Triang’, ‘Spot On’ and ‘Dollies Home’ range continued until 1964.
Jenny’s Home
As fashion and style move on so did Triang and in 1964, they launched a new range of furniture in collaboration with ‘Homes and Gardens’ magazine. This co-insided with the introduction of the ‘Jenny’s Home ‘ Room Boxes, many of them came ready furnished and could be joined together. Much of the furniture of the ‘Triang’ ‘ Spot On Range’, either changed in style or bright modern colours. Being made now completely of plastic, with the removal of the metal fittings. The packaging also changed with a move away from pink to blue, yellow, red and orange. With a smart new logo in a red and pink heart, with Jenny’s Home in the middle, and the words ‘the home that g-r-o-w-s around it. Individual items and small room sets, now on blister pack cards and room sets in plastic covered square flat boxes.
Space saving is probably more important in a doll’s house kitchen than anywhere else on earth; and in this the practical, home making doll is adequately catered for by the inimitable Tri-ang kitchen units. Here also, we find the most up-to-date combinations.
EARLY ELECTRIC COOKER 1019
This is an early metal Triang Cooker, it has an open grill, with a drawer under the main oven. The black splash of the cooker is embossed with the words ‘English Electric’.
ELECTRIC COOKER 1019
This electric cooker is made from plastic and metal, with a metal drawer. The door to the cooker opens to reveal two little plastic shelves.
DISHWASHER 1034
A very useful item for any modern kitchen, made of moulded plastic with various shelves and drawers.
The metal base of the Dishwasher is one of the few items that is marked as being made by Triang.
HOOVERMATIC WASHING MACHINE 1037
The washing machine was produced in great detail, showing the controls and hoovermatic label. It also came with a hose, which mine does not have, long gone I expect.
Although neither of the washing machines are complete, it does show how the colour has changed over the years.
These are the bases of the above washing machines, the older of the two is ‘Made in the United Kingdom’, and the newer model is ‘Made in Ireland’.
PRESTCOLD FRIDGE 1034
This is the first Triang Prescold Refrigerator, painted in cream the same colour as the Electric Cooker. It has one plastic blue/grey shelf inside.
The next Prescold Refrigerator is painted white, but otherwise is the same as the one above.
The Jennys Home Refrigerator is made from plastic, with a metal insert, with two white plastic shelves.
Space-saving is probably more important in a dolls’ house kitchen than anywhere else on earth; and in this the practical, home-making doll is adequately catered for by the inimitable Tri-ang kitchen units. Here also, we find the most up-to-date brightly-coloured stewpans, frying pans and whistling kettle. The kitchen table and chairs are scientifically designed, and Tri-ang has the latest thing in refrigerators as well as the traditional irreplaceable stepladder.
SINK UNIT 1012
This is example of an early sink, but it is not in very good condition, but the little silver tap configuration is intact.
The earlier sink units are blue and have a cream top, later changed to white. It is made from metal [apart from the top which is plastic] the two side drawers and cupboard doors open, it is quite a heavy piece.
As you can see, there are various shades of blue.
JENNYS HOME SINK UNIT JH2033
The later model of sink unit kept to the same basic style, sink tops and colours would change. There was also a gradual change from metal to plastic in the Jenny’s Home Range. The above sink unit is metal with plastic doors and drawers.
KITCHEN CUPBOARD 1012/2
This is the earliest of the Kitchen Dressers. The base of this unit is metal in light green, with two side opening doors, it has a light brown work top. The top shelf with ribbed obscure plastic glass is made of formed light brown molded plastic. Only the two side drawers open, the middle one is a blank.
This is a very unusual colour combination. The cabinet and drawers are blue painted metal with white moulded plastic worktop, and shelves above. [This is not in my collection, I have been given permission by the seller to use the picture.]

The Jenny’s Home Kitchen Cupboard has still retained its metal frame, but the cupboard doors and drawers are now plastic in red and white. The middle drawer is now a red blank without a handle. The work top is also a bit thicker.
KITCHEN CABINET 1012
The above Kitchen Dresser and Cabinet are early versions, quite an unusual colour, being light green. It would be nice to find a sink unit to match, if there is one.
This Cabinet seems to be the base unit for all cupboards and sink units in the range, as with others colours changed, and the move from metal to plastic.
BROOM CUPBOARD 1126
The cupboard is made of plastic, with a piece of metal in the base to give it some weight.
The Broom Cupboard came with a mop, long handled broom, dustpan and brush.
LEISURE KITCHEN CHAIRS 1014
The Leisure Kitchen Chairs came with boxes, they were a tight fit.
The Leisure Kitchen chair was made of moulded plastic, with neat little metal legs fitted in. This range did not carry on to the Jenny’s Range.
UTILITY CHAIRS JH1014
The Utilty Chairs were produced under the Jenny’s Home Range, replacing the Leisure Kitchen Chairs 1014. They are a metal frame painted white, with a blue plastic back.
JENNY’S HOME KITCHEN CHAIR 2000
These kitchen chairs are made of plastic. They have no weight to them at all, but you can still see the Triang Style.
LEISURE KITCHEN TABLE 1013
This table matches the chairs above, and this strange style is at its best with the chairs around it.
KITCHEN TABLE JH2011
The Leisure kitchen table changed in the Jenny’s Home Range. Made with a red plastic top, and white metal painted legs, still very pointed.

KITCHEN ACCESSORIES
ASCOT HEATER
The Ascot Heater does not have number.
The Ascot Water Heater is one of the few items of Triang furniture which is labeled as being made by Triang.
SAUCEPANS AND STAND 1107
The little saucepan and frying pan came with this stand, but I am not sure if they are Triang.
The kitchen was also sold as a Box set, consisting of a Leisure Kitchen Sink [1012], Electric Oven [1019], Leisure Kitchen Table [1013] and 2 Leisure Kitchen Chairs [1014]
FOOD ITEMS
I don’t have any complete food packs, just a few odd items.
Both of the above items come from Food Pack No.2 1139 [JH35], Grocers and Bakers Set. This set carried on into the Jenny’s Home Range.
