Jennys Home Living Room
Jenny’s Home
As fashion and style move on so did Triang and in 1964, they launched a new range of furniture in collaboration with ‘Homes and Gardens’ magazine. This co-insided with the introduction of the ‘Jenny’s Home ‘ Room Boxes, many of them came ready furnished and could be joined together. Much of the furniture of the ‘Triang’ ‘ Spot On Range’, either changed in style or bright modern colours. Being made now completely of plastic, with the removal of the metal fittings. The packaging also changed with a move away from pink to blue, yellow, red and orange. With a smart new logo in a red and pink heart, with Jenny’s Home in the middle, and the words ‘the home that g-r-o-w-s around it. Individual items and small room sets, now on blister pack cards and room sets in plastic covered square flat boxes. A full list of Triang Spot-On furniture can be found here.
Shown below are the new items of furniture that were introduced under the Jennys Home Range from 1964 onwards …..
JENNYS HOME BOOKCASE
The bookcase has not lost its pointed metal legs, it is now made completely in plastic.
JENNYS HOME RADIOGRAM
This is the Radiogram in the Jenny’s Home Range, it is in a lighter brown with a blue drop down cupboard door. The legs are still metal but are now painted gold, they are not so pointed.
Examples of the furniture in the picture above can be found on the Triang Spot-On Living Room Page.
JENNYS HOME TV AND TABLE 1006
The Bush TV sets came with the stand in the same box. The stand is on a metal base with thin metal legs. The above picture shows two of the styles of TV, one with a black surround and one with a walnut style surround.
The Bush TV was transformed in the Jenny’s Home Range. Having now a turquoise screen surround, with a black outer case. The table also has thicker gold painted legs.
Another Jenny’s Home TV, this time with a gold surround.
JENNYS HOME TV CONSOLE JH2022
With the introduction of the Jenny’s Home Range, the Philips Radiogram [1020], was transformed into a modern stylish TV Console.
The door opens on the right hand side revealing an orange turntable, similar to the Radiogram.
Above is the final transformation of the TV Consoles. Made completely of coloured moulded plastic, with no opening doors or drawers.
JENNYS HOME SETEE J3020 and ARM CHAIRS J2010
The Jennys Home 3 piece suite, was no longer made of metal and plastic. It was made of flocked polystyrene. It is so light and fragile, I am surprised that any have survived. Any heavy handed child could have damaged these.
JENNYS HOME WRITING BUREAU 1021
This Writing Bureau with an opening drop front and top panel revealing two small draws and little shelves and cubby holes. It is on a metal base with short metal legs.
The Triang Writing Bureau continued into the Jenny’s Home Range, the only change were the leg, which are now coloured gold.
The Bureau stayed in this style, and never changed colour, as other pieces did.
